We\'ve lived here for ten years and have thoroughly enjoyed it, but have to move on for work. What we\'ll miss most is the convenience of living a one minute walk away from the Thornlie Square shopping centre (Coles, Farmer Jacks etc), so we usually don\'t bother taking the car when we go shopping. The Thornlie Primary School is also just a short walk away, plus high schools and TAFE are quite close.
A bus stop 50 metres away takes you straight into the CBD, or you can get off at the train station just down Spencer Road. The Roe Highway (1km away) provides a convenient route to the Northern or Southern suburbs. Cannington and the Carousel shopping centre are 5 minute\'s drive away.
All three bedrooms have their own reverse cycle airconditioners (Mitsubishi brand - one of the most energy efficient available) and the lounge has a Fujitsu reverse cycle system plus a gas heater.
The kitchen has gas appliances and plenty of storage space, the bathroom is clean and quite modern.
The front garden is a low maintenance WA native garden requiring no watering and only a minimum of weeding and trimming. The back garden is also low maintenance, with mostly fruit trees including various citrus, peach, nectarine, pear, mango, guava, fig, grape and even white sapote and custard apples. The back garden is fully irrigated. We have a large concrete swimming pool which runs on salt water. It has a Kreepy Krauley pool cleaner and automatic chlorinator, so it is cheap and easy to take care of and stays in swimmable condition all year around. A solar water heating system is also available.
The garage has a remote operated electric door and it can take two or three cars depending on how you park, plus there is a second driveway which can take a few more. So this house would suit both a person with no car or a family with a lot of cars.
Additional features include a covered patio area with two rooms, one of which we use as a gym/games room and the other as a guest bedroom, storage and ironing room.
There is a back verandah, powered workshop, a pool changing room, brick barbeque and an efficient instant gas hot water system that never runs out of hot water.
The street is quiet with friendly neighbours, the house has a monitored alarm system and locks on all doors and windows and the back yard is surrounded by tall fences with a locked gate. The block is about to be rezoned R30, which makes it a duplex block.
The house has been well maintained and recently repainted. All plumbing is PVC, we replaced the clay pipes a few years ago. The gas hot water system is a very energy efficient instant model and is only a year old, airconditioning is only two years old.
